Arlene Newman, President and Founter

Arlene brings insider knowledge of the hiring process and knows firsthand what companies are seeking in successful job candidates. She provides professionals at all levels and across all industries with strategies and skills to advance their careers.

Arlene leverages her experience and expertise to help clients develop their personal brand and land their next job opportunity. With a MBA in Human Resources, Arlene has over 20 years experience as head of Human Resources for companies in the hospitality, entertainment, and fashion industries.

Arlene coaches clients on how to find job opportunities, build resumes, define personal brands online and offline, prepare for interviews, and develop networking and salary negotiation strategies.

In addition, Arlene works with companies to provide Corporate Outplacement Services. With one-on-one coaching, she develops personalized strategies to achieve career success, addresses employee concerns, counsels them on next steps, and focuses their efforts on executing successful job search campaigns.

Arlene's extensive career development experience includes creating talent acquisition processes for start-up organizations, recruiting and hiring hundreds of talented employees, and training leaders and decision makers on interview techniques.

Arlene is an Adjunct Professor at Baruch College, teaching Recruiting and Interviewing, and guest lecturer at several major universities such as Columbia, NYU, and Georgetown. In addition, she presents career workshops at the NYC Bar Association, Law Firms, and for various groups at NYC Society of Human Resource Management.

Arlene is currently on the Board of Directors and served a 3-year term as President of NYC Society of Human Resource Management (SHRM), the nearly 2,000-member chapter. She chairs the Leadership Continuity Committee, co-chairs the Directors' Forum, co-chairs the Professional Development Group, and is a member of the Staffing Management Group.

Janice Doty, Senior Advisor, Board of Advisors

Janice Doty, an Executive with IBM for many years, has broad experience in sales, marketing, product development, corporate communications, direct marketing, and real estate management. Janice also led the development of the IBM Gallery of Arts and Science in New York City. She left IBM to become Executive Vice President of Harris McCully Associates, a Career Management consulting firm in New York City.

A graduate of Rice University, who has been involved with the Rice community continuously since her graduation, Janice was named to the Rice Board of Trustees and served on the Executive Board of the Association of Alumni.

She worked with the Rice Development Office on their Centennial Fund Raising Campaign, which yielded $1 billion 90 million. Janice also served as Co-Chair of the 5-day Rice Centennial Celebration.

Janice is currently on the Advisory Board of the Rice School of Humanities. She is also active in the leadership of the Tri-State Alumni group, working closely with the Administration Office on the recruitment of students.
